| The Raceway’s Summer Tuition Programme |
The Raceway is launching its Summer Tuition Programme. We will be offering dates during the school holidays for tuition and practice sessions. For the younger kids we will be offering a series of structured lessons whereby you can increase your ability over the course of the summer. We will be holding 4 structured lessons in the categories: Bambino, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Bambino: Ages 6-7 designed to encourage a youngster’s initial steps into karting. The lesson lasts one hour and will introduce children to our cadet karts eventually finishing with the children taking their first safe laps around the circuit. £40pp.
Beginner: Ages 6-11 (all 6-7 year olds to have satisfactorily completed the Bambino lesson). A one hour lesson designed to get the children driving round the circuit safely braking for the corners and accelerating down the straights. £40pp.
Intermediate: Ages 6-11 (all kids to have satisfactorily completed the Beginner lesson). A one hour lesson to introduce the children to the concept of racing lines and braking points to encourage smoother and faster driving. £40pp.
Advanced: Ages 6-11 (all kids to have satisfactorily completed the Intermediate lesson). A one hour lesson to further develop the skills of the driver. You will be braking later than before for corners and accelerating earlier out of them, demonstrating your ability with a view to increasing the speed of your kart if your driving merits it. £40pp.
We will be also holding arrive and drive sessions during the day priced at £28pp for 30 minutes driving. This is for ages 6-15 (6-7 year olds to have satisfactorily completed the Bambino lesson) in either our Zip cadets or our Bowman karts.
Arrive and drive sessions for 16s and over are also available in our adult Cobra karts priced at £40pp.

THE RACEWAY INTRODUCES ITS CARBON-OFFSET PROGRAMME – OFFSET YOUR CARBON FOR JUST 11P PER PERSON – |
At The Raceway we feel that we have a social responsibility to minimise any harmful by-products of our activities in the environment and have therefore taken measures to ensure minimal effect of our karts on the environment. Our karts run on LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) producing 35.1% less CO2, 87.2% less CH4 and 95.1% less N2O than the petrol equivalent, ensuring the cleanest possible driving environment and minimal environmental effect.
However we have not stopped here. It is now possible to offset the CO2, CH4 and N2O produced by the karts and we have calculated that a driver will produce a maximum of 7.48kg of CO2 during an event. This carbon can be completely offset for 11p per person keeping your conscious clear.
|
|
| The Raceway work in conjunction with Blue Ventures Carbon Offset (www.bvco.org.uk) to run socially responsible karting events through offsetting the carbon produced by our karts through sponsorship of solar and fuel-efficient technology in the developing world.
For details of how these figures were calculated please call Henry on 020 8853 7007 or email henry@theraceway.com and ask for a full report.

Aliens vs Predator Launched at The Raceway
|
| The Raceway recently hosted the official press launch for the Xbox game Aliens vs Predator. Gaming journalists were invited to play the new game in the bar specifically converted into a specialised gaming zone kitted out with the latest consoles, high definition TVs and, of course, the game. This was the official press-launch of the new game available to customers in the coming months. While journa-lists were rating the new game, aliens and predators alike roamed the building adding to the experience and atmosphere. |
|
 | This was the third computer game launch The Raceway has played host to in recent months, previously launching both Forza Motorsport 3 and Club GTI.
The Raceway provides a great atmosphere for a product launch. If you have a new product to launch please contact Henry Smith at The Raceway on 020 8853 7007.

The Stig visits The Raceway!
|
 |
The Stig recently visited The Raceway last month to help raise money for Transaid. The Stig in question was ‘black stig’ (Perry McCarthy) who appeared in the first two series of Top Gear. Perry raced against 10 others who had each won the chance to race against the Stig in charity auctions.
Two races were held with the Stig starting each race from the back of the grid and fighting his way to the front. However it was competition from ex-karting champion Matt Bell that provided all the action that day. The pair finished the second race just 27 hundreths of a second apart with the Stig just taking the win and the fastest lap time of 42.41 seconds. A video of the final two laps can be viewed on the Raceway’s facebook page. Search ‘The Raceway Karting London’.

The Raceway on Fifth Gear
|
You may have seen us on FIFTH GEAR last night.
Our outstanding London venue was chosen ahead of all other UK kart racing circuits to pitch the Mini Cooper against the new Alfa Romeo Mito. Vicki Butler-Henderson put both superminis through their paces lapping our track dangerously close to the barriers!
To see footage from the show and to find out which car comes out on top, follow this link to the FIFTH GEAR website: http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain.jsp?mnk=410&id=384&description=Alfa+Romeo+Mito

Gianfranco Zola at The Raceway
|
Having brought his Premier League football team, West Ham United, here for some team building just before Christmas Gianfranco Zola this time chose The Raceway to entertain his family and friends.
Everyone had a great time but the star of the show was definitely young 6 year old Samuele Zola who showed the adults how it should be done in one of our ZIP STORM cadet karts.

| It's worth mentioning that West Ham United Football Club has been on a great run of results since visiting The Raceway. All other London clubs take note. |
